What is Horizon Communications?
Horizon Communications is a technology based company that will use the next generation of fixed wireless LTE, to provide its service offerings. Horizon's goal is to provide high-speed internet (150mbps by 2018 and 300Mbps by 2019), high-definition cable TV and VOIP phone service in areas where current customers receive poor, unreliable, and expensive services. After completing a successful capital increase, Horizon plans to launch it in its flagship Bermuda market, mid to late 2018. In addition Horizon Communications will provide High Definition TV service as well as Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) phone service. This wireless network infrastructure will be delivered via software designed specifically for radio systems that use the LTE-Advanced 4G standard (Release 13).
The LTE-Advanced 4G Horizon Communications equipment will be capable of delivering speeds up to 300 Mbps per client by utilizing outdoor antennas and fixed wireless client premise equipment. In the future, when customer premise equipment is available faster, speeds up to 1 Gbps per client will be possible. LTE technology provides software upgrade options to update LTE to the latest 4G and pre-5G standards without major hardware upgrades to the network. Our network will continue to be compatible with older 4G LTE equipment, even as we move towards LTE 5G.
Horizon will focus on targeted high-income markets, the first world economy, as defined by the World Bank. Bermuda has an average GDP of $ 84k per person, for example. This puts Horizon to achieve higher investment returns in an area easily covered by our technology, coupled with the inherent natural advantages our technology has over prospective employees in a tough environment will make Horizon very competitive.
What is Fixed Wireless?
